This role will be a HYBRID position based out of Brooklyn Park Minnesota.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Science Manager to lead our data science initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a proven track record of delivering impactful data-driven insights and solutions for both internal and external customers.

As a Data Science Manager, you will focus on understanding your customers’ business needs, realities and pain points to become their trusted advisor in the realm of data. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and executing a roadmap for the Data Science team.

  • Key Responsibilities: 

    Team Leadership and Management:

    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data scientists, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
    • Manage the day-to-day activities of the data science team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities.

    ​​Strategic Planning and Innovation:

    • Develop and implement the data science strategy, aligning it with the company's overall business objectives.
    • Stay updated with the latest advancements in data science, AI, and machine learning, and incorporate relevant innovations into the team's work.

    Customer Needs & Stakeholder Management:

    • Work closely with internal and external customers to understand their specific requirements, challenges and objectives related to data and analytics in their respective areas. This involves identifying pain points and opportunities for improvement.

    Project Management:

    • Plan, execute, and deliver data science projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within scope.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions.

    Data Analysis and Modeling:

    • Act as a hands-on technical contributor in data analysis and modeling.
    • Apply advanced statistical, machine learning, and AI techniques to analyze complex datasets and develop predictive models.
    • Ensure the quality and accuracy of data analysis and model outputs.

    Communication and Reporting:

    • Communicate findings and insights to stakeholders through presentations, reports, and data visualizations.
    • Provide regular updates to senior management on project progress, team performance, and key metrics.

    Collaboration and Partnership:

    • Work closely with other departments across Marmon Foodservice Technologies, such as IT, marketing, engineering, product management and finance, to leverage data science for business growth and efficiency.
    • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, vendors, and industry experts.

    Qualifications:

    • Master’s or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
    • 5+ years of experience in data science.
    • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL.
    • Demonstrated excellence with team collaboration and elevated level of adaptability.
    • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, or similar.
    • Proven expertise in statistical analysis, machine learning, and AI techniques.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Experience with big data technologies (e.g. Spark) is a plus.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
    • Knowledge of data governance and data privacy regulations.

    Compensation and Benefits:

    Target Annualized Compensation: $115,000 - $130,000
