AWS Data Engineer (Healthcare Claims) | About You

As an AWS Data Engineer (Healthcare Claims), you are responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and enterprise data models that meet diverse business needs within the healthcare sector. You excel in a cross-functional team environment, collaborating to deliver analytics and reporting solutions that drive critical information product suites. Focused on building scalable, secure, and efficient data solutions on AWS, you specialize in healthcare claims data and leverage data mesh principles to enable decentralized data ownership and self-service analytics. You are dedicated to ensuring data quality and compliance with governance standards, emphasizing reliability and security. Your collaborative nature and project leadership experience are essential to achieving successful outcomes in this role.

AWS Data Engineer (Healthcare Claims) | Day-to-Day

  • Design and implement scalable data models to support varied business needs, including operational, transactional, and data warehouse environments.
  • Build and manage batch and streaming data pipelines using AWS services such as Glue, Lambda, Redshift, and S3 to process healthcare claims data.
  • Architect domain-specific schemas that align with data mesh principles, enabling decentralized data ownership and ensuring interoperability for healthcare analytics.
  • Automate the data lifecycle, from ingestion and transfer to loading and egress, ensuring efficient and accurate data flow across systems.
  • Collaborate with data analysts and report writers to enhance BI reporting capabilities, leveraging tools like Tableau and ensuring data quality.
  • Conduct ongoing data profiling, validation, and consistency checks to guarantee high integrity and reliability of datasets over time.

AWS Data Engineer (Healthcare Claims) | Skills & Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Management, Data Integration, Data Transformation, or related fields, with a strong focus on AWS-based solutions and cloud data architecture.
  • Advanced SQL skills, including stored procedures, DDL, query profiling, and optimization for large-scale data processing.
  • Extensive experience in data modeling and hands-on implementation of relational, columnar, and NoSQL databases.
  • Proven track record in implementing data warehousing, data mart, and data mesh concepts, especially within the healthcare domain.
  • Expertise in building, optimizing, and maintaining ETL pipelines using AWS services such as Glue, Redshift, S3, and DynamoDB.
  • Proficiency in Python or a similar programming language for data processing, automation, and data pipeline development.
