Let's introduce ourselves

Volvo Cars is seeking a SIL Engineer to join the AD and ADAS Analytics group, a key team in the AD and ADAS Functions department focused on safe vehicle automation. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in simulation engineering and a passion for advancing autonomous driving and safety technologies.

What we do

Responsibilities:
•    SIL Development: Utilize Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) simulations to conduct closed-loop testing based on ideal sensing, evaluating function performance in specified scenarios for robust AD and ADAS function validation.
•    Validation and Verification: Support our Verification and Validation (VnV) activities by leveraging SIL simulations for new feature development, type approvals, and system ratings.
•    Requirements Definition: Define and document team deliverables, ensuring alignment with project goals and stakeholder expectations.
•    Cross-Functional Engagement: Collaborate with software engineers, data analysts, and cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate analytics and reporting capabilities into SIL workflows.
•    Innovation and Improvement: Develop innovative solutions using data analytics to derive advanced insights into autonomous driving and safety systems.
•    Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve issues within data pipelines and analytics processes to maintain high reliability and performance.
Qualifications:
•    Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
•    SIL Engineering Experience: Demonstrated expertise in Simulation-in-the-Loop (SIL) methodologies, including developing and validating simulation models for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Autonomous Driving (AD) features. Strong knowledge of SIL frameworks and tools for safety-critical systems.
•    Statistics/Machine Learning: Proficiency in statistical analysis and machine learning techniques, including unsupervised learning, linear and logistic regression, model evaluation, regression trees, regularization methods, ensemble modeling, and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN).
•    Industry Experience: Proven experience in software engineering, data analytics, or a related field, preferably within the automotive industry.
•    Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages, specifically Python.
•    Knowledge: Understanding of ADAS and AD systems, as well as data architecture principles and best practices.
•    Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering actionable insights.
•    Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
