About The Opportunity

The Data Analyst is responsible for the ownership, coordination, and/or completion of projects as part of the Analytics Team. The Data Analyst is the primary liaison between business users and the report data from the data lake. The Data Analyst will collaborate with business users to identify informational needs, collaborate with MyIT on data model additions and changes and be a subject matter expert for data in the reports supplied from the data lake. Additionally, the Data Analyst will analyze and interpret data sets to create insights and visualizations. The Data Analyst will also collaborate with business data owners and data stewards on data health, data integrity and data auditing, ensuring accuracy of reports.

Job Duties

  • Engagement and completions of Analytics team projects (liaison, facilitator, owner, or support)
  • Monitor, receive and complete requests from business users to enhance reports from data lake
  • Support business users with reports and data questions
  • Collaborate with MyIT on data model solutions, definitions and decisions
  • Perform routine data audits to identify improvement opportunities
  • Assist with formulation of project teams and scope definition for data analytics projects
  • Formulate hypothesis and develop data views, dashboards, and queries to evaluate hypothesis
  • Create data sets from internal and external sources using multiple technical solutions
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to support business growth through use of data analytics and modeling
  • Create visualizations and dashboards to share analysis with non-technical users
  • Manage data alignment as needed due to business process changes
  • Ensure data alignment for regulatory compliance requirements
  • Communicate technical concepts to non-technical audience by creating a narrative from data and the key ideas
  • Remain current with analytics techniques and technology
  • Respond to ad-hoc data analytics requests
  • Monitor use of manual reporting across the organization
  • Provide direction on best data sets to utilize for decision making
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Certification

  • Bachelor's degree in business, data analytics, statistics, logistics, etc. or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with SAP data, reports, terminology, and navigation

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Fluent in MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point)
  • Knowledge of advanced Excel, SQL, Python, Tableau, and SAP Analytics Cloud
  • Ability to expand technical skill set by becoming proficient with query and visualization tools
  • Strong analytical skills - Experience building complex data sets from multiple sources
  • Ability to prioritize to achieve deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter; able to work under minimal guidance.
  • Attention to details and results orientated
  • Ability to educate others on statistical / machine learning methods
  • Clean communicator – both written and verbal
  • Ability to meet timelines and ask for assistance when needed
  • Occasional travel
