Responsibilities

• Build automated data pre- and post-processing pipelines necessary for the machine learning research.

• Handle various data sources (e.g., images, PDF documents, raw text, csv, etc.) and be able to extract, merge, detect, and save targeted information in required formats.

• Manage internal SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) and integrate them with internal web applications.

• Front- and back-end development.

• Have proficiency in at least one of following programming languages: Python, Java, C, C++, etc.

• Follow up and benchmark the state-of-the-art machine learning research papers (e.g., generative AI, deep reinforcement learning, diffusion models, etc.).

• Modify benchmark models and apply them to chemistry domains using internal data and deploy those in-house models.

• Develop artificial neural networks using machine learning frameworks such as Pytorch, Tensorflow, Keras, JAX, and libraries in JAX ecosystem.

Qualifications:

• Materials Science & Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related quantitative field degrees are preferred.

• Strong fundamentals in chemistry, physics, and materials design. Understanding the first principle (ab initio) calculations.

• 2+ years of work experience in data science, machine learning model design, novel materials research, materials property prediction, data pipeline implementation, database, front-, and back-end development.

• Proficiency in Python libraries for data science and data visualization

• Previous experience in web application, platform development and web servers.
