Job Description
The Intelligent Sustainable Technology Division (ISTD) with the Aerospace, Transportation and Advance Systems Laboratory (ATAS) is looking for graduate students, starting Spring 2025, to work on new and challenging robotics and automation research projects. Potential project areas include machine learning and perception, planning and control of robotic manipulators and mobile robots, development of virtual and augmented reality interfaces, and integration of computer vision and other sensing technologies. These students should be able to work in both a team setting and be self-motivated when working on individual assignments. Tasks will include the development and implementation of leading-edge algorithms, background research, programming, debugging, and testing.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Graduate Research Assistant
- Pursuing a Master’s degree or PhD at Georgia Tech in Robotics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
- Must be enrolled full-time (12+ credit hours) during working semesters
- 3.0 or higher GPA
- Commit to 20 hours of work per week
Preferred Qualifications
- Robot Operating System (ROS) experience
- Pytorch experience
- Experience in Behavior Cloning and/or Reinforcement Learning
- Familiarity with Linux and open-source tools
- Task / team leadership experience
- Strong math skills and ability to learn complex engineering concepts
- Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas to non-technical personnel
