Data Analytics and Standards Evangelist 

Location: London, hybrid working 
Reports to: Head of Data

About The Role / Job Description 
The Data Analytics and Standards Evangelist will drive the adoption of analytics and data standards across Pearson , ensuring data is leveraged effectively and responsibly. This role involves collaborating with various departments (both internal and external) to promote a consistent approach to data standards, analytics, governance, and literacy. The Evangelist will also be responsible for the day-to-day running of our Data Warehouse, and educating stakeholders on the value of high-quality, standards-compliant data and the impact of data-driven insights on business success. 

The role will sit within a friendly, diverse and experienced Data Division, reporting to the Head of Data. We have a community feel with a large office presence, and work collaboratively as we navigate our highly complex, multi-billion row datasets. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Oversee the maintenance, integrity, and accessibility of our Data Warehouse 

including data accuracy, governance and analysis of usage within the company 

Advise on best data standards and practices across Pearson and the wider education sector 

Eulogise Data across the business, promoting a culture of self-serve, data literacy and responsible data usage across the organisation. 

Essential Skills & Experience 

Experience in Data Analytics and/or Governance:  
Hands-on experience in data analysis, data standards, data quality or governance is essential. is This helps candidates understand the technical aspects of data manipulation, analytics, and data quality. 

Evangelising Data :  
Experience as a “data advocate” or similar role where they promoted data practices, standards, fostered data literacy, and guided teams on the strategic use of data. 
 

Communication Skills: 
Excellent communication, the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences of all levels. 

Technical Proficiency 
Analytics Tools and Technologies: Proficiency with SQL, and visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau), and databases/data warehouses (e.g. BigQuery) 

Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines and manage own time effectively. 

Ability to solve problems using initiative and a methodical approach to tasks.  

Job Location and Hours 

The role is aligned to our London office on a 2 day Hybrid basis, working a 37.5 hour week
