Data Integration Specialist (Claims Data) | About You

As a Data Integration Specialist (Claims Data), you are responsible for delivering scalable, high-performance ETL processes within multi-tenant cloud infrastructures, ensuring reliable, high-quality data across our organization. You excel at building and optimizing ETL pipelines to transform complex datasets from diverse sources into clean, usable information, enabling data-driven decision-making. With a strong grasp of data architecture, you prioritize data integrity, security, and efficiency, identifying and addressing potential bottlenecks to maintain seamless data flow. Experience with commercial and CMS medical claims data allows you to make an immediate impact on key data initiatives.

Data Integration Specialist (Claims Data) | Day-to-Day

  • Serve as a key member of a self-organizing, autonomous development team, contributing to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to support and maintenance.
  • Design and implement human- and machine-readable enterprise data schemas, including AWS Glue catalog and service registry.
  • Analyze and profile large, complex data sets to assess quality and determine fitness-for-use.
  • Clean, transform, enhance, and validate diverse data sets to ensure consistency and usability.
  • Develop, test, deploy, and manage ETL software components to support data workflows.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts and Product teams to translate business needs into actionable implementation plans.
  • Identify and execute performance optimizations to ensure scalability, high performance, and throughput in ETL processes.

Data Integration Specialist (Claims Data) | Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of ETL-focused software engineering experience, with strong expertise in data integration and transformation.
  • Expert-level programming in Python and SQL, with strong performance tuning and database skills (e.g., PostgreSQL, AWS Athena, Redshift).
  • Extensive experience with database technologies and ETL tools (e.g., AWS Glue, NiFi, SSIS, Informatica, Talend).
  • Healthcare data experience, particularly with claims data, and familiarity with various formats (CSV, Parquet, Avro, JSON).
  • Solid knowledge of data modeling, including schema design, normalization, partitioning, and schema evolution.
  • Hands-on cloud development experience, with a focus on AWS and Big Data tools (e.g., Spark, Airflow).
  • Commitment to data quality through rigorous unit and integration testing, and familiarity with modern data architectures (Data Lake, Data Warehouse).
