Power BI Developer

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Power BI Developer to development and optimization of our business intelligence infrastructure, with a primary focus on Power BI and a broad knowledge of other BI tools. This role requires deep expertise in Power BI, SQL, and data visualization best practices, as well as experience in integrating data from various sources, including cloud data platforms such as Azure and AWS. The Senior Power BI Developer will collaborate closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to create scalable and insightful dashboards and reporting solutions that drive data-driven decision-making across the organization.

In addition to delivering powerful data solutions, the Senior Power BI Developer will play a key role in shaping BI strategy, implementing best practices, and mentoring junior team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and deployment of Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that align with business needs.
  
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable Power BI solutions.
  
• Design, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries to pull, transform, and prepare data from multiple sources for analysis.
  
• Develop data models in Power BI, including DAX functions, calculated columns, and measures for customized calculations.
  
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with organizational and industry standards.
  
• Drive continuous improvements in data visualization and Power BI processes to enhance data-driven decision-making.
  
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior Power BI team members, fostering an environment of learning and skill growth.
  
• Troubleshoot and resolve data and reporting issues quickly, providing solutions to complex analytical challenges.
  
• Stay updated on the latest Power BI and SQL best practices, tools, and trends.
  

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  
• 4+ years of experience in Power BI development, including complex dashboarding, report creation, and data visualization.
  
• Strong SQL expertise, with the ability to write advanced, optimized queries and understand database structures.
  
• Proficiency in Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) and Power Query for data transformation.
  
• Experience in data modeling, ETL processes, and managing data pipelines.
  
• Proven ability to work with large datasets and integrate data from multiple sources.
  
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  
• Strong communication skills to convey technical data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  
• Experience in the financial domain is necessary.
  
• Experience with additional BI tools (e.g., Tableau, SSRS, Excel) is a plus.
  
• Power BI certification (such as PL-300) is a plus.
  

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with cloud data services (Azure, AWS) and data warehousing concepts.
  
• Experience with Python or R for data analysis is advantageous.
  
• Knowledge of SQL Server, SSAS, or other database management systems.
