The team

The Operational Risk Economic Capital (OREC) team, within ING COO Risk/Modelling Tribe, is responsible for the end to end implementation of a new OREC model. You will be part of the team contributing to an improved way of calculating OREC and reporting on it. You will be part of an international and enthusiastic team. Openness in communication and “can do” mentality are important characteristics of the team.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Creating data models for reporting based on specific user requirements (for instance Group Treasury or Non-Financial Risk).
  • Implementing models on SAS VIYA by recoding from other languages like R, Python, etc.
  • Keeping contact with the stakeholders, in Risk management domains (local and global, Non-Financial Risk, Model Development), to understand their requirements.
  • Creating relevant documentations regarding the implementation of the new models.
  • Finding efficiencies and challenging the status-co of existing processes.

  • You have experience in working with large databases within the financial services industry (preferably Operational risk related) and have a thorough understanding of:
    • Datawarehouse concepts and data modelling techniques in the context of a complex data landscape.
    • Transferring data from location A to location B
    • Translating business requirements and observed defects into clear user stories for the development.
    • Importance of script hygiene for readable and understandable code and clear documentation.
  • You are experienced in how to optimize scripts to reduce processing time and data storage.
  • Knowledge of Operational Risk concepts (Internal Loss, External Loss, Scenario’s, etc) is a plus.
