The Senior Data Analyst is a key contributor supporting the Global Financial Services and AP organizations. The support of this large, complex organization will provide you with a tremendous amount of challenge and variety.

As a Senior Data Analyst, you will be working cross-functionally with teams across the company to service business needs and use data to discover business trends for the company to increase profits and efficiency.

Collaborate with accounting, IT, finance, and other teams to create and develop reports and analytics platforms, establish, and automate processes.

This job is responsible for collecting, examining, and identifying data patterns and trends that help drive actionable business insights and decision-making. Under limited supervision, the Senior Data Analyst job is responsible for collecting data sources, analyzing, and extracting key data and information. This job also evaluates and monitors data quality to meet the organization's information system needs and requirements.

In addition to the general daily responsibilities, this role provides you an excellent opportunity to lead and participate in automation, integration, and process improvement projects. These projects are where you can exercise your critical thinking and judgement skills, while providing tangible cost savings to the enterprise.


What You Will Do

  • Use SQL, Python, or other coding languages to perform data queries and comparisons of multiple data sets to identify anomalies and trends and create actionable business insights through data visualizations for interpretation.
  • Support Business teams with expert guidance in all matters relating to Business Intelligence, Analytics, and Reporting
  • Analyze/interpret complex data from large, disparate data sources to create actionable insights.
  • Create/Publish/Present Enterprise Services Tableau Monitors that are reviewed with Finance leaders.
  • Develop ad hoc reports as requested by Finance Management and Business Unit finance.
  • Collaborate with the business partners to understand business needs, propose solutions, and query the data warehouse to design and develop reliable datasets to find actionable business insights.
  • Manage and lead certain client projects.
  • Support Special Projects as needed.
  • Respond to internal and external audit requests.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • This role typically requires an Bachelor’s degree in  Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Analytics or other related field.
  • At least 2 years’ experience working with large data sets to make data-informed decisions and developing data visualization
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements.
  • At least 1 year experience updating and creating new queries and dashboards based on needs using tools such as: SQL, Python, or other programing languages
  • At least 1 years experience building dashboards and navigating data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik Sense, etc. as well as working with transactional and master data, such as accounts payable/receivable, purchase orders, vendor master, and concur expense is strongly preferred.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Accounts Payable and Concur Expense data sources and datasets and ability to align data sets between the heritage companies (hUTAS, hRC, hPW, and hRTN) that make up RTX.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail – ability to deconstruct information into smaller categories, identify patterns and trends, and summarize important data points to draw conclusions.
  • Basic knowledge of Government Accounting FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations Part 31) principles
  • Up to 5 years of finance or related analytical experience in a large corporate setting utilizing SAP and Alteryx is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills – able to comprehend the problem, understand downstream and upstream impacts, identify the connection between distinct data points, evaluate potential solutions and create intelligent solutions to a business problem. 
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

Work Location: Hybrid primarily based in Dallas, TX / Tucson, AZ / Farmington, CT / Andover, MA / Cedar Rapids, IA

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite.  Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
