Job Description

  • Based in Singapore, the regional hub for Asia Pacific (AP) and top-ranked biopharmaceutical company on The Straits Times and Statista’s list of Best Employers in Singapore for four consecutive years (2020-2023).

  • Lead & Set-up a DDA Capability Organisation of 30+ highly talented researchers, data scientists, forecasters, Visualisers & Data engineers in 10 AP markets (South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Philippines, Thailand, India, Indonesia, Singapore-Malaysia, Australia-New Zealand & Vietnam)

  • In this new strategic role, you will provide our regional and country/cluster leadership with data-driven recommendations to accelerate our business and exceed our 5-year aspirations. With the required insights and partnerships, you will drive differentiation, resulting in additional sales, profitability, and sustainable market share.


AP DDA is a part of company’s Human Health Digital, Data & Analytics (HH DDA) team. The HH DDA team spans over 80 markets across the globe and focuses on leveraging digital technologies, data analytics, and advanced analytics techniques to enable data-driven decision making and innovation within the healthcare industry. Lead the core Digital, Data Analytics (DDA) capabilities for Asia Pacific (AP) to deliver solutions to solve for prioritised business problems:

  • Integrated Market Research & Forecasting

  • Analytics & Visualisation

  • Applied Machine Learning, Modelling & SFE Productivity

  • Data Engineering Pipelining, Tagging, Taxonomy & Governance

  • Upskilling & capability building across enterprise

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As the AP DDA Capability Lead, you will lead and shape the data strategy for markets, drive exploratory data analytics to identify business opportunities, own the pipeline of applied machine learning and advanced analytics, and manage market research initiatives. You and your team in Asia Pacific, in collaboration with HHDDA Hub Capabilities will lead:

Productivity Analytics & Applied Data Science:

  • Define and translate objectives and business questions into analytical problems.

  • Support and advise region and market Commercial Operations Leaders with Sales Force Effectiveness (SFE) advanced analytics, including implementation of Global-Regional-Local (GRL) analytics products

  • Own the pipeline of commercial innovation, Applied Machine Learning, and advanced analytics, including GPT application to business problems.

  • Measure promotion-responsiveness and Return-on-Investments (RoI) for marketing efforts.

Integrated Research & Forecasting:

  • Oversee the relationship and cross-talk of with primary, secondary, and syndicate data-sets.

  • Review the agreements with external providers, benchmark services, and lead any conversations about upgrades and migration.

  • Become the Single Point of Contact for markets and regions for all market research-related demand management in collaboration with Business Engagement CoE and Global HHDDA Market Research team - ranging from pricing simulations, exploratory research, and brand-trackers.

  • Uncover actionable insights that fuel creativity and enable marketers to make data-driven decisions based on learnings from trends and new possibilities.

  • Work with the market teams, BUDs, and CMOs to understand the desired key outputs and outcomes for research and ensure effective monitoring, evaluation, and best practice guidance for using data are embedded into case management and service development

Capability & Community Steward:

  • Collaborate with Learning & Development teams to run a Sandbox for our Center of Excellence (CoE) and Business teams, facilitating a 'learning-by-doing' environment fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Subject Matter Expert of Dashboards, Visualization & UX Design:

  • Provide guidance on capabilities and functionalities of visualization tools, serving as an evangelist in data visualization techniques.

  • Develop rich, interactive, and visually striking graphics and data visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Qlik-sense, Spotfire, or Power-BI.

  • Collaborate with product development and user experience (UX) teams to design effective dashboards and storyboards for analytics information delivery use-cases.

Data Engineering & Stewarding for Enterprise Systems & Ingested Datasets:

  • Provide guidance to the Subject Matter Expert of Data Science & Technology leads; Collaborate with HH-IT on data-lakes and other IT software, platforms and value teams

  • Administer processes and procedures to minimize incidents and operational risks on platforms, ensuring data inter-operability.

  • Create data processes with uniform rules for interacting with data and intra-data field interactions within our HHIE and data-lakes.

  • Manage data lineage by tracking the origin of data and recording every instance of its use, while maintaining the data dictionary.

  • Maintain data quality by leveraging cross-functional teams and partner feedback to create systems with HH-IT for high-quality data.
     

Budget & Process Governance:

  • Liaise with procurement, Legal & Compliance for all contracting and process compliance.

  • Serve as the budget controller and be the point of contact with market and regional finance.

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE

To be successful in this role, you will have strong experience in ideating and implementing 0 to 1 strategies with an early stage / growth stage startup/ entrepreneurial mindset, and an innate joy to celebrate and learn from failures.

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in Digital Data Capabilities with deep expertise in research, data engineering, data science data visualization, UX design.

  • Proficiency in tools like Python, Tableau, Qlik-sense, Spotfire, Power-BI, etc.

  • In-depth knowledge of analytics, infographic design, and user experience principles.

  • Experience in data stewardship, data processes, data lineage, data dictionary maintenance, and data quality management.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage incidents and operational risks effectively.

  • Budget management experience and familiarity with process compliance requirements.

  • Passion for Digital, Data, and Analytics tools and technologies. Deep understanding of Asia Pacific markets. Fluency in English, both spoken and written, with an ability to synthesize data/insights into actionable business recommendations backed by Structured problem-solving skills and analytical rigor

  • Capability to communicate, collaborate and drive adoption and change across a range of local, regional, and global functions, with the empathy and sensitivity for cultural differences and can rally teams to action and outcomes. Strong project and people management skills, with intellectual curiosity and the ability to create a vision as well as execute complex initiatives in matrix structures and a get things done attitude

  • Bachelor of Science (or equivalent) in Data Science, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, IT, MBA , or equivalent commercial experience and discipline
