Job Summary

This position is responsible for constructing forecasts, recommendations and strategic/tactical plans based on business data and market knowledge. Creates specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required or available data elements. May provide consultation to users and lead cross-functional teams to address business issues. Produces datasets and reports for analysis using system reporting tools. May perform research and assists in analyzing financial and health data, including medical algorithms to determine health care expenditures, medical and economic outcomes, and cost containment strategies. Analyzes complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. Identifies and interprets trends and patterns in datasets to locate influences.
HET:
The Consultant’s primary responsibility is to leverage strong technical skills (SQL, R, Python, and Tableau) and healthcare industry knowledge (payor, provider, pharmacy, public health, epidemiology, etc.) to support and enhance client-facing engagements with HCSC’s largest Commercial customers. They will be accountable for the analytic support and consultancy for HCSCs largest Commercial Clients and advisory for internal senior-leader stakeholders related to population health and insurance.
BI Solutions:
The Consultant’s primary responsibility is to leverage strong technical skills (SQL, R, Python, and Tableau) and healthcare industry knowledge (payor, provider, pharmacy, public health, epidemiology, etc.) to support clinical and business stakeholders. They will be accountable for they analytical support and consultancy of internal clients and advisory service for internal senior leaders.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience in data analysis and information reporting relating to healthcare data, including pharmacy.
  • Requires knowledge and experience in own function; still acquiring higher-level knowledge and skills.

HET:

Required Job Qualifications: 

  •  Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience in health care services, statistical analysis, or insurance industry economics OR Master’s degree in related field.  
  • 2 years’ experience in analyzing medical claims data. 
  • Understanding, and being highly proficient at querying, a wide variety of healthcare data and related population data (medical/pharmacy claims, behavioral health claims, health care management (HCM) records, electronic medical records (EMR), provider databases (AMA, NPI, DEA, etc.), member/patient demographic data, and publicly available databases (U.S. Census, Bureau of Labor Statistics, NIH, etc.) in order to construct a robust, accurate, 360-view data environment that is unique to each client  
  • Performance excellence in one or more of the following computer languages: SQL, SAS, R, Python. 
  • Ability to create a dynamic and visually engaging dashboard in Tableau 
  • Acquaintance with version control/collaborative tools such as GitHub 
  • High degree of business intelligence and understanding how to take a business case from inception to client execution.  
  • Performance excellence in championing initiatives and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to bring the initiative to life. 

 Preferred Job Qualifications: 

  • Master’s Degree.
  • Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Engineering, Business.
  • Employing techniques such as a case-control study, regression analyses, principal component analyses, clustering exercises, propensity scoring, classification, ROI calculation, etc. to produce actionable insights. 
  • Understanding of Agile and Waterfall project management methods 
  • Versed in automation tools such as Alteryx.  

BI Solutions:

Required Job Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree (Applied Economics, Statistics, Data Science, CIS, Mathematics, Public Health, Healthcare Administration etc) and 2 years of experience in BI development and consulting or related field OR Master’s degree in related field. 
  • Understanding, and being highly proficient at querying a wide variety of internal and external data sources to get meaningful insights. 
  • Performance excellence in one or more of the following computer languages: SQL, R, Python. 
  • Ability to create a dynamic and visually engaging dashboard in Tableau or Power BI 
  • High degree of business intelligence and understanding how to take a business case from inception to client execution.  
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) data analysis is a plus. 
  • Performance excellence in championing initiatives and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to bring the initiative to life. 

Preferred Job Qualifications: 

  • Experience with project management methodologies. 
  • Experience of Healthcare industry.  
  • Acquaintance with version control/collaborative tools such as GitHub 
  • Experience with transformation tools such as Alteryx.
