OVERVIEW OF THE DEPARTMENT/SECTION
Core Compliance is responsible for support the programme of change within the department. Included in this remint is Data Governance, both from a Change and BAU side.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Main Purpose and Accountability of the Role
Specifically, you have accountability for the following named departments, this includes:
- Centre of Excellence ‘COE’ & Transformation Delivery Management
Roles, Scope and Reporting Structure
- Authority from, and Reporting to:
- Head of Core Compliance COE & Transformation (COET)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Specifically, you will be accountable and responsible for taking appropriate action relating to Data Governance with respect to the Company’s and Core Compliance, including:
BAU
- Accountable for acting as a centralised point of contact for Core Compliance for any questions relating to Data. Supporting the Core Compliance Data Steward.
- Responsible for maintaining the departments data policies, standards, and procedures. Understand the data flows into Core Compliance systems from source including the controls in place. Documents and escalate gaps. Collaborating with other data governance teams locally and other regions to ensure the department is following best practices.
- Responsible for the Core Compliance Data Issue management process. Co-ordinate and create material for regular meeting and seek solutions for open issues. Escalate to management where required
- Contribute and leading coordinating and facilitating data governance activities and forums. Create data quality metrics, dashboards, and reports where required.
- Overseeing the department’s EUCs ensuring that they adhere to the regional policy. Support the attestation process
- Accountable or supporting the data in key Core Compliance systems including surveillance platforms. Ensure daily checks are in place; trouble shoot issues, and introduce tools to track performance. Liaise and partner with technology on seek robust solutions.
- Proactively identify gaps in current BAU activities and implement improvements.
Change
- Responsible for supporting Change management access the department from a Data perspective including; data impact assessments for projects, update to data landscapes and data controls. Support testing of data quality and data reconciliation. Accountable for tracking data actions and outcomes for any project assigned in a auditable format.
- Responsible for contributing to securing funding for projects. Work with colleagues across Technology, Head office and other regions to provide transparency into the regions data requirements. Completing ROI where required.
- Accountable and responsible for establishing any business project related meetings required for projects assigned ensuring Terms of reference (Tour) are in place where required.
Technical Capability
- As part of the Core Compliance Transformation team you are responsible for identifying and understanding issues, risks or dependency of any projects you are working on; swiftly actioning and seeking, documenting resolutions.
- As Data management is the key deliverable of this role, you are responsible to understand effective ways to ensure data governance and seek solutions to data issues.
- You are also responsible and accountable for managing conflicting priorities and re-prioritise work accordingly.
- Responsible for working effectively with other people via different methods, both inside and outside of Core Compliance building and promoting effective working relationships.
- Authority to make result driven strong decisions and manage large workloads and tight deadlines.
- Responsible for using a range of communication skills to be able to adapt to a range of clients, stakeholder and external parties.
Relationship with other functions and stakeholders
- Maintain and enhance good working relationships with stakeholders, across the region and globally to share best practices, provide support and seek opportunities for collaboration.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Experience working in or with Financial organisations
- Experience of Compliance data helpful but not mandatory.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Functional / Technical Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in data science, information management, or related fields.
- At least 8 years of experience in data governance, data quality, data management, or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of data governance principles, frameworks, methodologies, and tools.
