Job Summary: 
As a Business Analyst / Analytics Task Lead, you will be responsible for managing and executing high-impact analytics projects that leverage big data to solve complex business challenges. You will work cross-functionally to gather requirements, analyze large datasets, deliver insights, and implement project management standards. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of big data technologies, analytical methodologies, and possesses either PMP certification or Six Sigma experience. This position is onsite 1-2 days per week and requires an active Secret clearance or higher.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Management and Leadership:
  • Lead analytics projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they meet quality, time, and budget expectations.
  • Utilize PMP or Six Sigma methodologies to manage project scope, timelines, resources, and risk.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to define project goals, deliverables, and performance metrics.
  • Data Analysis and Strategy Development:
  • Conduct data discovery and analysis using big data tools and techniques to extract meaningful insights.
  • Design and implement data models and analytical frameworks to address business questions and enhance decision-making.
  • Develop data strategies that align with organizational goals, ensuring effective use of big data assets.
  • Requirement Gathering and Documentation:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, document, and prioritize business requirements for analytics initiatives.
  • Translate business needs into technical specifications for data engineering and development teams.
  • Create and maintain project documentation, including project charters, process maps, and status reports.
  • Data-Driven Decision Support:
  • Present data-driven insights and actionable recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Design dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate key findings and monitor performance metrics.
  • Provide analytical support and expertise for strategic planning and operational improvements.
  • Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement:
  • Apply Six Sigma principles (if applicable) to analyze and improve processes within the analytics function.
  • Monitor project outcomes, measure success, and identify areas for process improvement.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring best practices in data management and analysis.
