As a part of the global research, our AI research in Silicon Valley focuses on Foundation Models, Big Data Visual Analytics, Explainable AI (XAI), Natural Language Processing, 3D Perception & Mixed Reality, Cloud Robotics, Data Science, AI Platform, Time-series Analysis. We develop scalable, intelligent, and trustworthy AIoT solutions to enable inspiring UX for Bosch products and services in application areas such as automated driving, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), robotics, smart manufacturing, enterprise AI, health care, smart home and building solutions.

As a part of our global research unit, our Natural Language Processing group is responsible for advancing Natural Language Processing (NLP) technology, particularly Large Language Models (LLMs), for industry applications. Our mission is to develop cutting-edge NLP solutions that drive innovation, solve complex industry problems, and shape the future user experience of Bosch products for both internal and external users in the fields of AI agent, information retrieval, question answering, software engineering assistance, and etc. We work with internal partners at various Bosch business units to transfer our ideas and solutions into future products. We also actively collaborate with leading groups in academia and industry to promote research ideas and publish research findings in internationally renowned conferences and journals, e.g., ACL, EMNLP, ISWC, AAAI, NeurIPS, ICML, ICASSP.

Job Description

  • Conduct research on Large Language Model (LLM) and Agent to address academic and industrial challenges in AI fields.
  • Work with an international team of experts to transfer and apply the Bosch in-house LLM Agent innovations and 3rd-party solutions to Bosch products and services (e. g. information retrieval, question answering, software engineering assistance, information extraction, etc.)

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in computer science or engineering
  • 3+ years of research experience in natural language processing, machine learning, and related fields
  • 3+ years of research experiences on large language models (including training, fine-tuning, and prompting) and development of agent with large language models.
  • Hands-on experience on state-of-the-art NLP / AI libraries and toolkits

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Publication record in top NLP / AI venues (e.g., ACL, EMNLP, NAACL, TACL, AAAI, NIPS etc.)
  • R&D experiences on LLM based agents, task planning / decomposition, and reasoning
  • R&D experiences on retrieval-augmented generation
  • R&D experiences on multi-modal foundation models
  • R&D experiences on low-resource NLP
  • R&D experiences on explainable NLP

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $150,000 - $165,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc. Your Recruiter can share more details about the specific salary range for this position during the interview process.
