Overview

We are seeking a talented and experienced Data Platform Engineer to join our team. As a Data Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and tools necessary for our cloud-based data platform. You will work closely with data engineers, analysts, cross-functional teams, and other stakeholders to ensure that our data platform meets the needs of our organization and supports our data-driven initiatives. As part of the Deutsche Bank Corporate Bank Data Services team your role is to help our Data Tribe to deliver data platform solution.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable data infrastructure solutions on Google Cloud Platform, in addition to design, develop and manage data pipelines to ingest, process, and store data from various sources into the cloud data platform

  • Optimize data storage and retrieval processes for performance, scalability, and cost effectiveness, and collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and analysts to understand their requirements and provide solutions that enable them to analyze and derive insights from data effectively

  • Implement and maintain data governance and security measures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our data

  • Adopt best practices in monitoring, troubleshoot, and overall observability of the data platform issues, ensuring solution resiliency and high availability

  • Stay up to date with the latest cloud technologies and best practices in data engineering and recommend improvements to our data platform architecture and processes

  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize tasks, and deliver projects on time and within budget while documenting data platform architecture, processes, and procedures

Skills You’ll Need

  • Moderate experience in data engineering, cloud engineering, or a related field, as well as with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and KaŅa

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala

  • Strong experience with cloud platforms such Google Cloud Platform

  • Familiarity with database systems such as Hive, Impala, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL databases

  • Hands-on experience with data pipeline observability tools such as Apache Airflow or Luigi and knowledge of data governance and security best practices

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

Expectations

It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary is $100,000 to $142,250. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
