Description:
- As a Data Engineer with Synergy, you will join the team supporting the mission of the Officer of the Chief Information Officer for a Federal government agency. Under the direction of the Synergy Project Manager and Program Technical Lead, the candidate will work with the customer’s Data and Business Intelligence team to execute projects related to their management of data using AWS cloud services.
Essential Functions & Duties:
- Manage, modernize, and automate (where possible) data pipelines using AWS cloud services
- Design and develop efficient ETL/ELT processes to transform raw data into meaningful insights
- Collaborate with the team to optimize data pipelines for performance and scalability
- Manage the pipelines across multiple environments (Development, Test, Stage, Production)
- Implement data integration best practices to bring together disparate data sources, ensuring data consistency, accuracy, and integrity
- Assist to design and develop interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations to provide actionable insights
- Perform day-to-day production support for user incidents, tasks, and changes
- Define and maintain standard operating procedures using industry best practices
- Coordinate across multiple operations teams to manage the solution
Skills, Qualifications and Certifications of Best Candidates:
- Proven experience with AWS services to include Glue, Athena, DMS, Step Function, DataBrew, EventBridge, SNS, S3
- Hands-on experience performing ETL/ELT data processing and data integration, specifically using AWS services
- Experience with Python scripting
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, including dimensional modeling, star schema, and data normalization
- Knowledge of Snowflake and SQL, including data modeling, creating stored procedures, and creating views
- Knowledge of reporting and dashboarding using Tableau and/or Power BI
- Ability to clearly communicate/present technical issues and status to customers
- Ability to create project documentation (e.g., SOP) and status reports (e.g., weekly progress)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 applications, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, Teams, and SharePoint
- Experience working in an agile environment, coordinating across multiple teams
- Ability to execute in a remote work environment
- Experience with Federal government customers
Certifications & Technical Stack (preferred)
- AWS Solutions Architect Associate or above
Citizenship or Work Authorization Required:
US Citizen or US Work AuthorizationPreferred Education & Experience: 10 years of experience with 6 years of technical experience, or 4 years’ experience in IT Solutions at senior management (preferred) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Management (IM), Information Technology, Engineering.
Compensation for roles at Synergy varies depending on a wide variety of factors including but not limited to the requirements of the role; education and certifications; knowledge, training, skills and abilities; level of experience; geographic location; and alignment with market data, law, and other business and organizational needs. As required by local law, the posted pay range represents the lowest to the highest pay that Synergy believes in good faith it might pay for this particular job, depending on the circumstances. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
A reasonable estimate of the current pay range is: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00.
