Are you looking for an internship or master thesis and want to get to know the work of an AI Researcher (d/f/m)?  Then apply now! We look forward to you supporting us in the Airbus Central Research & Technology Team as an intern/master student (d/f/m)! 

  •  Location: Ottobrunn

  • Start: Dec 2024–Mar 2025

  • Duration: 6 months

The internship/master thesis will take place within the Artificial Intelligence Research unit of Airbus Central Research & Technology and based in Taufkirchen (near Munich, DE). The team is working on exploring, adapting, and maturing deep-learning technologies to bridge the gap between state-of-the-art research and the challenges of real-life Airbus applications. 

You will work on uncertainty quantification in the context of vision-based aircraft landing — and your research will focus on the intersection between Bayesian deep learning and computer vision. 

Your location

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Develop uncertainty-quantification methods for deep learning.

  • Benchmark the performances of the developed algorithm with current state of the art solutions.

  • Present the work and results to the project team and the Airbus AI community.

 Desired skills and qualifications

  • Enrolled fulltime student (d/f/m) within Computer Science or a similar field of study.

  • Strong background in machine learning (e.g. projects, internships, work experience, etc.).

  • Experience with Bayesian methods / uncertainty quantification in machine learning (e.g. Laplace approximation, variational inference, deep ensembles, etc.) is a big plus.

  • Experience in computer vision (object detection and pose estimation) is also a plus.

  • Strong coding skills in Python and PyTorch.

  • Good working level in English.
