WHAT YOU WILL DO:

We are seeking a skilled Data Visualization Engineer to join our dynamic team, focused on converting complex datasets into clear, actionable visual insights. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and refining visualizations, dashboards, and reports that empower decision-makers across the organization. You’ll collaborate closely with product teams, UI/UX designers, data architects, and engineers to deliver scalable and performance-driven data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain interactive data visualizations, dashboards, and reports tailored for diverse stakeholders, including technical teams, management, and operational staff.
  • Leverage a variety of tools, such as Looker Studio, Power BI, and Python (Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly), with an emphasis on code-driven visualization techniques.
  • Work alongside product owners, UI/UX designers, and data architects to develop wireframes, prototypes, and visualizations that meet both user needs and business objectives.
  • Utilize cloud platforms like Google Cloud (GCP) and Azure to develop cloud-based visual solutions, optimizing the use of these services.
  • Prepare and clean datasets for visualization by developing efficient data pipelines and SQL queries that support data-driven insights.
  • Apply best practices for responsive design and accessibility, ensuring that visualizations are user-friendly, adaptable, and inclusive for all audiences.
  • Collaborate with business intelligence architects and data engineers to improve data models and ensure that visualizations are fast, reliable, and optimized for performance.
  • Build prototypes and gather feedback early in the development process to iterate and refine visualization solutions.
  • Translate complex data insights into clear, understandable formats for non-technical users, ensuring that data is presented in a way that drives informed decision-making.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Your values:
    • Integrity: You believe in doing the right thing, even when it's uncomfortable, seemingly inefficient, or costly.
    • Purposefulness: You have a desire to serve others with your skillset and an openness to continuous learning and growth.
    • Ownership: You stick to your commitments, follow up with action, and seek clarity in communication & expectations.

YOUR EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years of experience in data visualization or business intelligence, with a strong focus on code-based visualizations and working with BI tools.
  • Proficiency in Python for data visualization, with experience using libraries such as Matplotlib, Seaborn, and Plotly.
  • Experience with Looker Studio, Power BI, and familiarity with cloud platforms like Google Cloud (GCP) and/or Azure.
  • Strong skills in SQL for querying data, building data pipelines, and preparing datasets for visualization.
  • Understanding of responsive design, accessibility standards, and UI/UX principles to ensure that visuals are user-friendly and inclusive.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical details to non-technical stakeholders.
  • A proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including product owners, designers, and data architects, to deliver impactful data visualizations.
  • Consulting experience is strongly desired!

 WHAT WE OFFER:

  • Competitive compensation with opportunities for additional incentives. The annual salary range for this role is $120,000-$160,000.
  • Work/life balance – we know there’s more to life than work! We encourage our team to pursue other passions, get outside, and spend time with family. We work with clients and consultants to set expectations for a manageable workload.
