We are seeking an experienced Data Specialist to execute the data migration activity within Workday Financials as part of a full-platform Workday implementation
The Data Specialist will work closely with the finance teams, functional teams, technical teams, and third-party vendors to ensure seamless data migration, governance, and transformation across the project. This role requires in-depth knowledge of Workday’s data model, tools and templates as well as a strong understanding of Finance business processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the data migration strategy for the Workday Finance deployment.
- Execute data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) activities for multiple migration cycles for all Workday functional areas in scope, including Financial Account, Budgets, Projects, Project Billing, Customers, Suppliers, Assets
- Define and execute data governance processes to ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with Finance stakeholders to gather data requirements, ensuring alignment with business processes and system capabilities.
- Coordinate data validation and reconciliation efforts with the relevant project subject matter experts, ensuring discrepancies are resolved before go-live.
- Work with third-party vendors and internal teams to integrate data from other systems (e.g., payroll, benefits, financial reporting) into Workday.
- Contribute to regular programme updates on the status of data-related activities, including data readiness, migration progress, and issue resolution.
- Participate and lead the Workday Finance data migration workstream recurring meetings to report ensure alignment to the plan and deliverable
- Ensure data privacy and compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, SOX).
- Support post-go-live data maintenance, optimization, and troubleshooting efforts.
Skills, Experience, Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in data management, with a strong focus on ERP implementations, preferably Workday.
- Hands-on experience with Workday Finance functional areas, including data workbooks and Enterprise Integration Builder (EIB)
- Strong knowledge of SQL, ETL tools, or similar as well as data migration methodologies.
- Experience with data governance and data quality frameworks.
- Proven ability to collaborate with project delivery teams through complex ERP implementations.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
- Familiarity with compliance and data security regulations (GDPR, SOX, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Workday certification in various Financial Functional Areas, inclusive of Data Migration
- Experience in large-scale data transformation projects.
- Knowledge of other ERP systems and their data architecture (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
