Your role
In this role, you'll be responsible for developing and refining data analysis to support key retail insights. You'll use SQL to produce datasets and run analyses that inform store and sales performance, while leveraging Power BI to build and enhance reports for a variety of stakeholders. Part of your role will involve optimising existing Power BI reports, identifying areas for improvement, and collaborating with your manager to challenge and elevate current reporting processes.

A focus of this position is on driving sales performance and maximising stock efficiency. You’ll regularly review store performance, monitor item sales, and ensure optimal stock levels across stores. Your work will include liaising with stores and Area Managers to develop strategies for maximising retail sales, particularly during peak sales events. You'll also manage stock builds, ensuring that inventory is allocated effectively to support sales goals. This role is ideal for someone proactive about data-driven decision-making and retail excellence.

About you
You're a skilled data analyst with a strong eye for detail and a passion for problem-solving. With a proven background in data analysis within a retail environment, you’re proficient in tools like Power BI, SQL, and ideally, Databricks. You’re comfortable taking ownership of a fast-paced, varied workload, using your technical expertise to produce and optimise insights that drive impactful decisions.

In addition to your technical skills, you’re highly capable in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, enabling you to quickly identify discrepancies and develop actionable solutions. Your strong planning and organisational abilities allow you to adapt seamlessly to changing business needs, and your positive, flexible approach means you bring energy and precision to each task.

This role is perfect for someone who wants to take the lead and shape it as they see fit. You’re someone who can spot inefficiencies, identify errors in processes, and propose solutions to streamline workflows for better, long-term results.

As a clear and engaging communicator, you’re skilled at building productive relationships across the business. You'll also be a motivating presence, eager to support and mentor trainees, fostering their growth and contributing to team success.

Your team
You'll be joining a dynamic team with a real passion for what they do. Our team is a blend of long-standing members, with some having over 20 years of experience, alongside fresh talent that has recently joined, bringing new perspectives. As part of our ongoing evolution, we’ve just moved into a brand-new office space at head office—making this a particularly exciting time to come on board!

The office environment is incredibly supportive and collaborative, and we’re committed to helping everyone feel they can do their best work. Whether you're learning from our most experienced team members or sharing fresh ideas, you’ll find a welcoming space where your contributions are valued.

Your benefits
We’ll discuss more of what you’ll get when you work for Next at interview, but here’s an overview of what you can expect:
