Data Science Analyst II

Aviva is seeking a Data Science Analyst who together with our Data Science community will be transforming General Insurance at Aviva. 

We are offering this role to someone with an appetite for problem solving and interrogating data with practical experience in programming and data management skills.

About the role: 

In this role you will be executing Aviva's Data Science Strategy, aiming to innovate and enhance operational team’s experience and improve the ways of working. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, you'll drive insights to optimize and automate processes. Your focus will be on exploitation of data and using machine learning to predict trends. 

What will you be doing? 

• Supporting the development of Data Science models, including the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning. 

• Supporting for the development of IT tools, in particular with the use of Python, R, SQL. 

• Conducting, reviewing, and documenting analyses using data analysis and Data Science tools in accordance with specific project tasks. 

• Preparing and processing of data necessary for analytical processes while taking care of their quality and adequacy. 

• Participating in the development of models supporting operational activities and management decision-making in accordance with defined tasks. 

• Performing tests of changes/updates in systems/tools in accordance with the assumed scenarios. 

What we’re looking for? 

• Transferrable programming language experience such as Python, R 

• Experience working with SQL databases 

• Good knowledge of data science, including machine learning 

• Ability to solve mathematical and logical problems 

• Analytical mindset and creative thinker/problem solveR

• Organised self-starter, with drive and commitment 

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen and present to non-technical audiences
