About the Role:

The Actuarial Catastrophe Modeling department of Everest Global Services, a member of the Everest Re Group, Ltd. is looking for a Catastrophe Modeling Analyst to join our Warren, New Jersey office.

Role & Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

  • Running catastrophe models and pricing a significant volume of reinsurance contracts.

  • Writing SQL code to process model data input and output.

  • Interacting with underwriters to provide analytical support on contracts.

  • Working on projects that speak to your interests and strengths, e.g., model validation, model building, automation of pricing workflows, reporting, backend system development, UI development, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or higher in a quantitative major.

  • 0-1 years of work or internship experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

  • Exceptional problem solving skills and self-motivation.

  • Understanding of probability and statistics.

  • Programming/coding skills (SQL, Python, R, C#, etc.).

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Strong work ethic.

  • Knowledge of data science or machine learning a plus.
