Gartner's Finance Practice is seeking a Finance Data and Analytics (D&A) Analyst to join our team. This role is pivotal in shaping our research and advisory on D&A strategy, data governance, and creating compelling, actionable insights for our clients. About this Role:
Gartner analysts are the world’s leading experts in their topic areas. You will create and deliver must-have insights through published research and client interactions. You will meet with clients and prospective clients every day: on the phone, in video conferences, face-to-face, and from the stage at a Gartner event. In every client interaction you will help solve difficult puzzles that lead to better performance.
What You’ll Do:
- Research, write about, present, and advise Finance leaders on how to develop and implement innovative and actionable D&A strategy, data governance/MDM, measurable performance KPIs and metrics, and data driven stories aligned with Finance’s and the enterprise’s needs.
- Deliver compelling, high-quality, and actionable advice through face-to-face and video-based client presentations and discussions.
- Become regarded as an industry-leading thought partner, remaining ahead of the curve on developments and issues within your research area of expertise.
- Leverage industry expertise, prior professional services experience to collabo
- rate with and guide your team while promoting innovative and analytical thinking.
- Demonstrate superior analytical skills, applying conceptual models, detecting patterns and shifts in the market while drawing and defending conclusions.
What You’ll Need:
- 10+ years of experience overseeing and working in a (preferably) senior executive finance data and analytics role (i.e., FP&A, management reporting, A&BI development).
- Subject matter expertise and proven experience in several or all of the following areas: data strategy, data governance, MDM, KPI development, A&BI and data visualization, data storytelling, D&A modeling, and/or AI & data science.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Strong understanding of AI and advanced analytics technologies and their application in finance.
- Strong business and financial acumen with excellent communication and collaboration skills and an ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Experience with self-service analytics platforms and dashboard design.
- Ability to conduct occasional travel, regionally and globally.
