We are currently looking for a Data Science Intern at our Long Island City, New York office. 

The 2025 dsm-firmenich Summer Internship Program will begin June 9th, 2025 and run through August 14, 2025
Our standard working hours are Monday – Friday (37.5 / 40 hours per week)

Your key responsibilities
•    Develop visualizations in Python that will inform the next steps in our research
•    Create interactive web applications for data analysis using Dash
•    Clean, process, and analyze complex biological datasets as part of a team of data scientists
•    Collaborate closely with cell biology researchers to understand their data needs and challenges
•    Follow best practices for maintaining clean, readable, and well-documented code
•    Participate in lab meetings and discussions to ensure project progression and inform next steps

You Bring
•    Currently working on completion of a Bachelor’s degree in a computational field. Biology, Neuroscience, Chemistry, Physics, Data Science, or related.
•    Must be proficient in Python, including pandas and matplotlib. Familiarity with SQL, Dash, and Git is highly desirable
•    Candidates must be available to work full-time beginning on June 9, 2025 – August 14, 2025, with the ability to work on-site at least three days a week
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to synthesize and parse data
•    Strong organizational skills; able to manage priorities and workflow

The hourly rate for this position is $23.00 - $26.00 per hour.  Compensation will be dependent on factors that include location, education, training, specific skills, and years of experience.
