Department: Operations – Services
Reports To: RavenTek Program Manager
Location: Remote
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Hours: Full-time, 40-hours/week

Position Summary
The Data Analysis Technical Consultant supports the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) by advising and implementing strategies and technologies that align with the DISA data intelligence strategy. This role will focus on providing deep subject matter expertise to deliver strategic insights on various data sources. As the project progresses, the consultant will shift towards implementation and execution within defined use cases and technical domains, contributing to a comprehensive approach to enterprise observability. The performance of this position is key to RavenTek's performance on the contract, and therefore RavenTek's mission to support DISA.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on the strategies and technologies required to implement the DISA data intelligence strategy effectively.
- Deliver in-depth insights on the implementation of various data sources, helping to identify how these sources can be leveraged to extract valuable insights.
- Transition from strategic advising to the implementation and execution of data strategies within agreed-upon use cases or technical domains.
- Collaborate on projects related to End User Experience Monitoring, IT Service Management (ITSM), Endpoint Security, Data Security, Application Security, Application Performance, Network Performance, Compliance, and Governance.
- Assist in identifying and implementing the necessary technologies to ensure that data sources support enterprise observability aligned with DISA datasets.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, data engineering, and security, to ensure the successful execution of data initiatives.
- Assist in establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the success of data initiatives and recommend adjustments as needed.
- Enter actual time worked, once complete, at the end of the day, or no later than 10:00 a.m. the following workday, and submit timesheets at the end of each pay period.
- Submit regular Status Reports as required by manager.
- Monitor RavenTek email on a regular basis, at least 3 times per week, and respond accordingly.
- Complete required compliance training as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Occasional travel may be required.
Knowledge and Critical Skills
- Strong knowledge of data sources, analytics, and enterprise observability principles.
- Familiarity with End User Experience Monitoring, ITSM, security domains, and compliance standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to derive actionable insights from complex data sets.
- Strong communication skills, capable of presenting technical information to diverse audiences.
- Knowledge of advanced analytics tools and technologies relevant to data monitoring and observability.
Education & Work Experience
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a technical consultant or in a similar role focused on data analysis and strategy implementation.
- Experience working within government or defense environments, particularly with DISA.
- Familiarity with data governance and security best practices.

- Must have an active Secret clearance.
Work Environment
Employee will be working indoors in an office environment with other people. Potential moderate temperature fluctuations. Typical indoor and computer related noise level, and typical office, paper, and equipment related dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis.
Physical Demands
To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, the employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; see to read printed materials and computer screens; mobility to work in a typical office setting. Ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and may be required to provide recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee must be able to lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically up to 20 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
