Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Cyber Data Scientist to join our team in Dulles, VA. This unique role requires a blend of Computer Network Operations (CNO) expertise and advanced data science skills, with a focus on large language model training and C/C++ development. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical abilities and a passion for solving complex cyber challenges through data science.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain software in Python and C/C++ for CNO-related projects.
  • Work on training, optimizing, and fine-tuning large language models to support cyber operations initiatives.
  • Conduct data analysis and statistical modeling to support cyber operations and enhance network security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and refine technical solutions that meet the organization’s cyber and data science objectives.
  • Ensure high-quality code through test-driven development (TDD) practices and maintain robust documentation.
  • Translate cybersecurity and data science requirements into actionable software solutions.

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience (Python, C/C++).
  • Demonstrated expertise in operating systems internals (Linux or Windows).
  • Experience in large language model training and optimization, with a focus on data-driven cyber solutions.
  • Strong foundation in statistical analysis and data science methodologies applied to cybersecurity.
  • Proficiency in test-driven development (TDD) with a commitment to delivering reliable and maintainable code.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, especially in tackling complex technical design issues.
  • Strong documentation skills and attention to detail in maintaining accurate records.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with virtualization and containerization technologies and Python virtual environments.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance, particularly in a secure development environment.
  • Advanced Python development skills.
  • Solid C/C++ development experience for cyber-related applications.
  • Proven ability to translate complex requirements into effective software designs.

Security Clearance Requirement:

  • Active Top Secret Clearance or Higher required.
