The Chief AI Office at ADI is seeking to hire the role of Head of AI Robotics to spearhead the development of AI-driven robotics technology as a key capability, with a primary focus on establishing ADI as a leader in Industry 4.0, Edge AI, and the future of manufacturing. This role will drive the development of AI models specifically designed for robotics, with an emphasis on utilizing Edge AI to enable real-time decision-making and advanced robotics functionality in complex, dynamic environments.


The AI Robotics Head will lead the creation of ADI’s Center of AI Robotics, leveraging Edge AI technologies to enhance ADI’s capabilities in developing smart, autonomous systems. These technologies will be essential to ADI’s strategy in deploying digital factories and transforming semiconductor manufacturing processes internally and across clients. The role will also involve extending ADI’s leadership in AI-robotics hybrids, positioning the company at the forefront of the shift toward AI-powered automation.


This leader will be responsible for overseeing the integration of AI solutions across ADI’s manufacturing and operational frameworks while enabling cross-sector collaboration with partners in industries such as automotive, healthcare, and industrial manufacturing. By incorporating Edge AI into robotics systems, this role will empower ADI to remain at the cutting edge of real-time data & signal processing and autonomous decision-making, enhancing the performance and scalability of ADI’s AI-driven robotics solutions.


Responsibilities: 

Strategic Leadership:

  • Define and execute a vision for AI-driven robotics within the semiconductor industry, aligned with the company’s overarching technology strategy.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to create and refine strategies that integrate AI, robotics, and semiconductor innovations for the company’s growth and leadership in Industry 4.0.

  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies and trends in AI, machine learning, robotics, automation, and edge computing to ensure the company’s competitive positioning.

R&D and Product Development:

  • Lead the development of AI and robotics technologies, emphasizing AI-driven automation systems, digital factories, and robotics applications in semiconductor manufacturing.

  • Oversee research and development teams to deliver scalable, efficient, and innovative solutions, ensuring alignment with the company's long-term AI and robotics roadmap.

  • Drive the creation and deployment of advanced AI models, including machine learning, computer vision, autonomous robotics systems, and Edge AI applications, to revolutionize factory automation and precision in semiconductor processes.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Partner closely with semiconductor manufacturing, design, and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of AI and robotics solutions into existing and future production lines.

  • Work with sales, marketing, and product teams to develop AI-robotics solutions that address market needs and customer demands, with a strong focus on scalability and efficiency.

  • Collaborate with external research organizations, academia, and industry partners to accelerate innovation in AI and robotics.

AI & Robotics Ecosystem Building:

  • Establish a center of excellence for AI and robotics within the company, building high-performance teams and fostering a culture of innovation and rapid experimentation.

  • Foster an innovation ecosystem, partnering with universities, research institutions, and start-ups to create a pipeline of AI and robotics advancements applicable to the semiconductor sector.

  • Advocate for AI and robotics technologies within the industry, representing the company at conferences, forums, and other public engagements.


Expected Qualifications & Experience 

  • Master’s or PhD or equivalent in Computer Science, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field, with specialized experience in Edge AI and its application to robotics.

  • Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in AI, robotics, and Edge AI technologies, with at least 5 years in leadership roles. Experience in semiconductor or high-tech industries is preferred.

  • Proven experience in developing and deploying Edge AI technologies within robotics systems, enabling real-time decision-making and autonomous capabilities.

  • Ability to lead cross-sector AI-robotics initiatives, particularly in industries such as automotive, healthcare, and industrial manufacturing, with a focus on applying AI-robotics hybrids.

  • Exceptional leadership qualities capable of building and nurturing AI-focused teams, fostering a culture of innovation, and driving organizational change.

  • Excellent communication skills for articulating complex AI concepts to a diverse range of stakeholders and technologists 

  • Success in articulating complex ML enabled Robotics strategies to a varied audience effectively. 

  • A visionary and progressive mindset with a strong enthusiasm for harnessing technology to enact major innovations in a corporate environment. 

  • Experience in steering large-scale business changes, focusing on strategic vision, implementation, and adaptive change management.

This role will have an East Coast orientation interfacing with ADI operations globally particularly in Europe.
