Job Description

Are you interested in shaping the next generation of Analytics, BI and Data Science driven solutions for the financial industry? Do you enjoy working in an agile teams? We’re looking for a Big Data Engineer to join the team and help shape the next generation of our data solutions for Wealth Management and Banking. Do you have experience in designing, developing, testing and maintaining Cloud Data Platforms, Data Pipelines and Data Management Systems?  If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

Your key tasks

• You will be responsible for creating scalable and reliable data pipelines that ingest, process, and deliver data from various sources to our real-time data platform
• Closely collaborate with Product Managers, Data Scientists, Business Analysts and Software Engineers 
• Design, develop and maintain new data integration solutions

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java, Python, SQL, and cloud technologies such as Snowflake
• Experience in productive Big Data and Data Analytics environments
• Experience in Stream Processing, Streaming Data, and Data Pipelines
• Experience with data modeling, data quality, and data governance best practices
• Fluent in spoken and written English

It would be a real bonus if you have

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
• At least 3 years of experience as a data engineer or a similar role
• Practical experience implementing container platforms, preferably OpenShift / Kubernetes and implementing Microservices
• Familiarity in streaming technologies like Kafka and Kafka Connect
• Understanding of data visualization solutions like Tableau, Qlik, PowerBI
• Practical experience on Infrastructure as code like Terraform
• Banking know-how or experience working on financial solutions
• Knowledge and experience on Avaloq Banking Suite
