Job Description

Position Overview:

The Senior Credit Risk Analyst will be responsible for developing and optimizing acquisition and portfolio credit risk strategies. This role requires a high level of analytical expertise, particularly in data extraction, manipulation, and visualization, with a strong focus on SQL and Python. The ideal candidate is adept at analyzing historical data to spot trends and is passionate about process improvement to drive profitability and growth.

Responsibilities:

Credit Risk Strategies:

  • Develop and refine acquisition and portfolio credit risk strategies that support business growth and profitability.
  • Analyze historical credit data to identify trends and inform strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement and monitor credit risk strategies, ensuring optimal performance and compliance.
  • Recommend process improvements based on data-driven insights and risk assessments.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Build, maintain, and update comprehensive data reports to support the credit risk team’s efforts.
  • Use SQL to extract, transform, and analyze data from various databases.
  • Create Python scripts to streamline data processing and automate reporting tasks, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
  • Produce actionable insights through data visualization and reporting tools, translating complex data into clear, digestible information for stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in credit risk analysis, in the financial services industry.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python for data extraction, manipulation, and automation.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to derive actionable insights from data.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
