Senior Manager, Data Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Manager, Data Scientist. This role is pivotal in driving data-driven decision-making and innovation within our organization to support our colleagues across Finance, People Experience, Legal, Compliance, and other Enabling Functions at Pfizer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement advanced data science models to support business objectives
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data-driven opportunities
• Design and conduct experiments to validate hypotheses and improve decision-making
• Create and maintain data pipelines to ensure data quality and accessibility
• Develops and leads/co-leads complex projects, develops and manages plans to achieve objectives
• Applies skills and discipline knowledge to contribute to work within Sub Business Unit/Sub Operating Unit
• Makes decisions to resolve moderately complex problems, develops new options, guided by policies in non-standard situations, able to operate independently in ambiguous situations
• Works independently, uses knowledge and experience to achieve desired results, often self-initiated assignments
• Work indirectly reviewed through consultation and agreement, may review work of others in Sub Business Unit/Sub Operating Unit
• High level of awareness of own limits, becomes a resource for others
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior data scientists
• Stay current with the latest advancements in data science and technology

Basic Qualifications:

• BA/BS with 7 or more years of experience, or an MBA/MS with 6 or more years of experience, or a PhD/JD with 2 or more years of experience, or an MD/DVM with less than 4 years of experience.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL
• Extensive experience with machine learning algorithms and statistical modeling
• Strong knowledge of data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI
• Expertise in big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or similar

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Familiarity with natural language processing (NLP) techniques
• Background in pharmaceutical or healthcare industries
• Proven track record of leading data science projects from conception to deployment
• Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
