Summary/Objective
This position will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support our data-driven initiatives using Azure data services. This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of our data systems and solutions.

Essential Functions

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures using Azure data services.
  • Collaborate with data analysts, developers and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Ensure data integrity, quality, and security across all Azure data systems.
  • Develop and manage ETL processes to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources into Azure data warehouses and data lakes.
  • Optimize data workflows for performance and reliability using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and other Azure tools.
  • Administer and maintain Azure and on-prem Postgres databases, Azure SQL Database, Mongo DB, Cosmos DB, and other Azure data storage solutions.
  • Implement data storage solutions that support efficient querying and analysis.
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and industry standards.
  • Monitor and optimize Azure data systems for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to support data-driven initiatives.
  • Mentor and guide junior data engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance data infrastructure and processes.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

Required Education, Experience, Certifications and Licensure

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering or a related role.
  • Valid state issued driver’s license in good standing and acceptable driving record required.

 Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently. Bilingual is a plus.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, Spark, and data engineering tools (e.g., Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse Analytics).
  • Experience with Azure cloud platform and its data services.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and implement complex solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments at once, multi-task across projects, and effectively prioritize each.
  • Highly focused on process development and adherence.
  • Ability to see potential issues and risks before they snowball and implement an appropriate mitigation plan.
  • Detailed knowledge of O365 capabilities and configuration.
  • In-depth knowledge of server and PC hardware.
  • Experience supporting multiple locations.

  • Employees in this role are regularly required to climb, sit, stand, bend, kneel, and frequently lift to 25 pounds. 
  • Employee may be required to drive a vehicle while on Company business, maintain a good driving record and be insurable under Company vehicle insurance. 
  • This position may also require reaching, pushing, and pulling. 
  • This position may also be exposed to chemicals and/ or blood borne pathogens.  Exposure risk is considered:  _____ Low 

Travel

  • This position may require up to 10 percent out of area and overnight travel.
  • Travel is based in the US and Canada and may require multiple night stays and weekends.
