Some of what you will do:

As a Senior Analyst, Preferred at Staples Canada, you will play a critical role in supporting the growth and success of our SMB program, Staples Preferred. You will be an integral part of the Staples Preferred team, working closely with the Staples Preferred Program, Staples Canada Product and Merchandising teams. Your primary responsibilities will include providing data-driven insights, program level KPIs, merchandising reporting, and broader sales and operational KPI reporting for the Preferred team. 

 

Specifically, You Will:

  • Partner with the Staples Preferred Program and Product teams to identify data requirements for initiative analysis and reporting.
  • Utilize data analytics and business intelligence tools to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Conduct thorough analysis to evaluate the performance Preferred Perks.
  • Identify key trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement to enhance future offerings.
  • Partner with the Staples Preferred merchandising team to develop and maintain interactive and actionable dashboards in Power BI and Looker.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and ensure data availability for various projects.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in Staples Preferred data analysis, providing guidance to colleagues and business partners.

 

Some of what you need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Statistics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Previous experience in B2B or retail analytics.
  • Hands-on experience within a retail company is an asset.
  • Expert-level SQL ability; strong Microsoft Excel skills; Python is an asset.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Looker, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • 3+ years of experience in business intelligence or related roles leveraging SQL, Power BI, and other data analysis tools to build actionable reporting.
  • Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies is an asset.
