We’re looking for an experienced Software Engineer to support our customers and join our passionate team of high-impact problem solvers.
About the role:
As a Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in bringing technical solutions to life, actively participating in the development, testing, and deployment of our infrastructure. Collaborating with your peers, you'll begin taking ownership of specific modules or functionalities while being mentored by more experienced engineers.
What we are looking for:
- Proficiency in Big Data, Cloud, or Enterprise Frameworks: Hands-on experience with frameworks such as Play, Spring Boot, or Quarkus, showcasing the ability to build scalable, maintainable systems.
- Understanding of Software Design and Architecture Patterns: Familiarity with industry-standard patterns, including MVC, microservices, and layered architecture, to create robust and efficient solutions.
- Software Engineering Experience: 2-4 years of hands-on development experience, demonstrating strong coding, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Front-End Development Skills:
- Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for creating responsive and dynamic user interfaces.
- Experience with React, including the ability to build reusable components and manage state effectively.
- Database and Geospatial Skills:
- Solid experience with SQL for querying and managing relational databases.
- Familiarity with PostGIS for spatial database extensions and geospatial data handling.
- State Management Expertise: Experience with Redux for managing complex application state across components.
- Containerization and Deployment:
- Practical knowledge of working in containerized environments such as Docker to streamline development and deployment workflows.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment best practices for automating and enhancing software delivery processes.
- Open-Source Contributions: A history of contributing to open-source projects, showcasing your collaborative coding skills and commitment to the development community.
- Agile Team Collaboration: Experience working within an Agile development environment, participating in sprints, and using tools like Jira for tracking progress and fostering team collaboration.
- Strong Interpersonal and Teamwork Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively within a diverse team, openly share ideas, and adapt to feedback to achieve project goals.
Highly preferred:
- Experience with Deck.gl Mapping Library: Hands-on experience utilizing Deck.gl to create high-performance, interactive data visualizations, especially for geospatial data applications.
- Proficiency in Python: Advanced skills in Python for developing backend services, scripting, data analysis, or building machine learning workflows.
- Expertise in Cloud Technologies:
- Proficiency with platforms such as AWS or Azure for deploying and managing cloud-based applications and infrastructure.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes for orchestrating containerized applications, ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficient resource utilization.
- Familiarity with Apache Superset: Understanding of Apache Superset for creating and managing data dashboards, with experience in connecting it to various data sources and building insightful visualizations.
Clearance Requirements:
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active Public Trust

Salary Range:
- $90,000 - $170,000
- The determination of compensation is predicated upon a candidate's comprehensive experience, demonstrated skill, and proven abilities
