Come join our team as a Data Scientist I and take on an important role in a world-class health organization at our Department of Computational Medicine at UCLA. The department provides a hub for collaborations across the UCLA campus to enable scientific discovery in biomedical data sciences and then works hand in hand with the UCLA Health System to apply these discoveries to improve patient care. Within UCLA's campus lies a prestigious medical school, a world-class research hospital, and nationally-ranked departments within the engineering school with significant strength in data sciences.
The Data Scientist will complete assignments using the application of computational theory into practice and with an understanding of IT-related diverse research application areas. This role works with deidentified data sets to analyze contract data, and will assist the PI and laboratory staff with entry level coding. The Data Scientist will also help with data entry databases and validate for errors.
Note this position is a full-time limited appointment for 3-4 months and may convert to career.
Salary Range: $32.95 - $67.53 Hourly
Job Qualifications

Required:
- Demonstrated skills in analyzing high volumes of data sets using coding and various software methodologies.
- Familiar with at least 2 programming languages (R, C#, Python, SAS, STATA or related).
- Knowledgeable in computational methods including AI and machine learning.
- Experience in computation science, data science, statistics, or related field, with computer, computational, and/or data management experience.
Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
