What we do?

The Business Unit Research Innovation & Engineering (RI&E) is involved in development, deployment and maintenance of SAP Profitability and Performance Management product. We are responsible for it's architecture, design, development, deployment and maintenance of this product. PaPM is based on SAP Analytics Cloud and we work very closely with SAP in all phases of product development. We are responsible for the development of SAP PaPM application and content packages providing standard functionality for various use cases and industries. RI&E team in India works closely with their counterparts in Germany and Poland. It is a young team and rapidly growing in the areas of product development, DevOps, DevSecOps and Performance Engineering.

What you will Do?

We are seeking an experienced AI Engineer to lead the development and implementation of cutting-edge artificial intelligence solutions. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise in generative AI with strong leadership abilities to drive innovation and mentor team members.

• Lead the design and development of enterprise-scale AI systems, focusing on Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative AI applications
• Architect and implement advanced RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) solutions using vector databases for enterprise data integration
• Develop and optimize AI workflows using autonomous agents and multi-agent systems
• Guide and mentor junior engineers while fostering a culture of technical excellence
• Drive AI strategy and best practices across the organization
• Optimize and fine-tune AI models for enhanced performance, accuracy, and reliability
• Implement MLOps/LLMOps practices and oversee AI system monitoring and evaluation

What Experience you should have?

• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in Generative AI and Machine Learning
• Deep expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs), NLP, and deep learning methodologies
• Proven experience with vector databases and implementing RAG/Advanced RAG solutions
• Strong background in AI agent development, with knowledge of frameworks like LangGraph and Autogen
• Advanced proficiency in Python and experience with FastAPI or Flask for API development
• Demonstrated expertise in prompt engineering and LLM configuration optimization
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and system design principles
• Experience in building and deploying AI systems at scale
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with proven ability to lead technical teams
• Hands-on experience with AI orchestration frameworks like LangChain

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with SAP BTP for MLOps/LLMOps
• Knowledge of Knowledge Graph technologies and applications
• Familiarity with AI evaluation and monitoring tools (LangSmith, Comet Opik)
• Proven track record of successful AI product developments (running in production)
