We look to hire an experienced professional who has worked in both developing, architecting and researching OT platforms with a deep understanding of digitalization standards of OT systems, broad understanding of OT technologies specifically OPC UA, OPA, etc. You will be joining the integrated solutions and experiences lab, whose focus is on solutions research in the domains of automation, sensing, and localization. The lab has a strong research body on robotics and drone research with the goal to transfer solutions to the Nokia business units and to ventures. 

We are looking for enthusiastic senior-level researchers to join our research efforts at Bell Labs. As part of our team, you will: 

  • Innovate and create new applications for AI and LLMs in the operational technologies domain, I 5.0, 
  • Identify the key research challenges of automation of the future and define research projects across different research departments and labs to help solve them
  • Identify the right collaboration and partnership strategy to impact the OT industry with novel approaches and technologies.
  • Transfer research results into impactful software solutions through business units or through ventures, 
  • Create intellectual property and publish in top events and conferences around research topics identified.

Lead initiatives for government funded projects in the US. 

You have:

  • Masters degree (or equivalent experience) in computer science, electrical engineering, automation, or related disciplines.
  • Extensive experience in several of the following areas: OT software systems, AI foundations and systems, digitalization of OT systems, IT/OT integration.
  • A proven track record of applied research in the area of OT/IT integration as well as hands-on experience with introduction of IT technologies to real OT customers.
  • Ability to conduct independent research while also contributing to team-oriented projects.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to successfully work in collaborative projects.

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Proven experience in designing and leading large complex software and integration projects.
