Job Description

We at Novartis Biomedical Research are seeking a creative early talent to join our mission in developing new therapies for chronic and acute renal diseases, among others.

The successful candidate will work on cutting-edge data science, modeling complex data to drive drug discovery and early development. You will join a global community skilled in data analysis, machine learning, and experimental techniques to test biomedical hypotheses.

Preferred start date :  February 2025

Latest start date : March 2025

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with a core team of Translational Research and Data Science scientists fluent in wet and dry lab practices.

  • Participate in interdisciplinary teams to model biology and guide impactful decision-making in drug discovery and early development.

  • Conduct integrated analyses of biological, genomic, proteomic, and clinical data using statistical and machine learning techniques to support novel drug target and biomarker discovery.

  • Present findings, visualisations and general progress to project teams ensuring clear communication of complex datasets.

Essential Requirements:

  • Recently completed BSc/MSc in life sciences with experience in modeling biomedical research data

  • Working knowledge and experience in applying statistics and data modelling to large-scale life sciences data.

  • Knowledge and/or experience in analysing and integrating multi-omics datasets (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics) to address key scientific questions related to disease understanding.

  • Proficient in R/Python, with experience working in a Linux environment.

  • Skilled in reproducible research, data visualisation, and reporting.

  • Practical, team-oriented approach to problem-solving.

  • A commitment to alignment with departmental priorities.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
