Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Senior Data Science Engineer that will help pave the way for our digital platforms. The ideal candidate will help us extract actionable information from complex data sets and deploy software solutions, to enable ourselves and our customers to make more informed data-driven decisions with respect to design, operation and maintenance of our assets – advancing a sustainable energy future for all.

Our R&D engineers and scientists develop breakthrough technologies that change the way the world works, and industries do business. We constantly push the limits of convention, while retaining our focus on delivering quality products and solutions to our customers.

You will be working in an agile team setup in a Global Environment, with colleagues in Poland that is cooperating with teams in India and Sweden. You will report to the local department but also to the Global R&D functions for digital solutions in HVDC.

The team is working in an agile way where all team members are expected to contribute with their knowledge and experiences to achieve the common goals for the development of the products. This means that the team is doing breakdown of activities together, collaborate within the team as well as seeking collaboration with other relevant teams in (and sometimes outside) the HVDC organization.

Your responsibilities:

  • Perform statistical analysis, create models and data visualizations to uncover insights with respect to condition monitoring, diagnostics and forecasting.
  • Develop and implement software solutions and products within our digital offering.
  • Understand business and domain specific technical requirements to define the scope of data analysis and find new ideas for investigation and invention.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide actionable insights through our digital offerings.
  • Share knowledge and insights openly with colleagues.
  • Mentor more junior data analysts to help the whole team grow.
  • Stay updated with the latest data analysis techniques and tools.

Your background:

  • 5+ years of work experience in a relevant field.
  • Master’s degree (or higher) or equivalent professional experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field.
  • Strong foundation in data science, with practical experience in data preprocessing, feature engineering, model selection, training, and inference.
  • Skills including machine learning, sensor fusion, and signal processing.
  • Proficient in Data Science Programming Languages (i.e. Python, Matlab) and associated libraries.
  • Excellent communication skills to present findings clearly and effectively.
  • Fluent in English – verbal and written.

Beneficial:

  • Experience working in the domain of electrical power systems, especially HVDC.
  • Experience with big data technologies, i.e. Spark.
