Job Description

We are on the look out for a Data Engineer to join our team and help us continue to revolutionise the world of quick commerce. Our Quick Commerce division is dedicated to bringing customers their everyday needs in the quickest way possible.As a Data Engineer in the Quick Commerce division, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and infrastructure that enable data-driven decision-making across the organisation. You will work closely with product and analytics teams to implement reliable data pipelines and solutions, optimise data flows, and ensure data accessibility to support our business needs. About the Team

As a part of the foundational squad of Data Engineering functions supporting the entire Quick Commerce vertical, You will contribute to forming and improving our huge data model setup located in Google Cloud and powered by Apache Spark and Airflow by breaking down the complexities, identifying friction points, refactoring for better performance, and ensuring its scalability. You are also going to be responsible for designing and promoting best coding practices, as well as taking part in the standardisation routines for data foundations, business intelligence, data science and analytics teams. 

  • Support the design and implementation of data pipelines and ETL processes to facilitate efficient data integration and transfer across systems, while focusing on data quality and reliability.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements, and assist in the development of data models to meet business needs. Work with analytics and application teams to translate data requirements into actionable, efficient technical solutions. 

  • Monitor and support data pipelines, assisting with troubleshooting to ensure smooth data operations and minimal downtime.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, mathematics, statistics, or a related field. 

  • Practical experience or internships in data engineering, software engineering, or related fields. 

  • Foundational programming skills in languages such as  Python, R, or Java, SQL, with a strong desire to build proficiency.

  • Basic understanding of data modeling and relational database concepts, and practical experience with SQL databases. Experience with large-scale data processing frameworks is a plus

  • Basic experience with data exploration and analysis, attention to detail and a passion for data accuracy and integrity.

  • Good communication skills and eagerness to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.

  • Awareness of fundamental concepts such as data governance, data quality, and data security is a plus.
