Your mission

The location of the position will be Toulouse (Oncopole, 31) or Boulogne (92) with high flexibility in terms of commuting from France/Europe and home office.

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Data Scientist to join our growing Data Science and Biometry group.

The ideal candidate will focus on omics data analysis to support target identification and evaluation, as well as drug discovery activities, specifically within our expanding oncology early portfolio.

The Pierre Fabre Group is dedicated to Medical Care R&D, aiming to provide innovative treatments for patients. Oncology is a major priority and constitutes a strategic focus for the Pierre Fabre Group.

Our internal R&D pipeline, supplemented with future external opportunities, will be central in shaping the future orientation of Pierre Fabre Medical Care.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform comprehensive analyses of RNAseq and scRNAseq internal and external data to identify and evaluate potential drug targets in oncology.
  • Collaborate with drug discovery teams to integrate omics data insights into the development of new cancer therapies.
  • Integrate multi-omics datasets to provide a holistic view of cancer biology and identify novel therapeutic opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain data analysis pipelines for high-throughput omics data.
  • Keep abreast of the latest developments in omics technologies and oncology research to ensure the team remains at the cutting edge.

Who you are ?

Who are you?

  • Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Science, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in omics data analysis, with a focus on RNAseq and scRNAseq in oncology. Experience with epigenomics data is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Python and R programming languages, with experience in bioinformatics tools and packages. Experience conveying scientific results through both static and interactive reports and visualizations (e.g., RShiny and others).
  • Skilled in scripting within Unix/Linux environments and proficient in using command-line interfaces with high-performance computational clusters. Committed to good coding practices and adept at writing reproducible scripts within version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Strong understanding of cancer biology and the molecular mechanisms underlying oncogenesis.
  • Excellent English written and oral, presentation, and communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work in interdisciplinary teams and contribute to collaborative research projects.
