We are seeking a motivated Data Architect with a strong foundation in data engineering to join our team and contribute to the design, development, and evolution of our data architecture. This role is ideal for an experienced Senior Data Engineer aspiring to transition into an architectural role. The ideal candidate will leverage their technical expertise in scalable, secure data platforms and cloud technologies to help shape and support the company’s strategic data initiatives.

The position is based in Madrid, following a hybrid work model. Fluency in Spanish is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the definition and execution of data architecture strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Assist in designing scalable, secure, and robust data platforms including data lakes, data warehouses (DW), and real-time data pipelines.
  • Support the integration of data solutions with broader IT architectures to ensure seamless functionality and efficiency.
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies and tools for data management, aligning with architectural best practices.
  • Participate in the transformation of data platforms to support business scalability and efficiency.
  • Collaborate on the optimization of technology infrastructures to enable robust data management solutions.
  • Ensure that data systems are secure, compliant, and aligned with governance policies.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business, IT, and operations, to ensure data architecture aligns with business needs.
  • Provide technical consultation to teams on data engineering and architecture best practices.
  • Assist in identifying data-related risks and implementing solutions to mitigate them.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering, with exposure to data architecture concepts.
  • Proven expertise in building and optimizing data platforms such as data lakes, data warehouses, and data pipelines.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) for data management and integration.
  • Strong understanding of data security, governance, and compliance standards.
  • Solid experience with ETL/ELT tools and modern data engineering frameworks.
  • Excellent problem-solving and collaborative communication skills.
  • Fluency in Spanish is required.
  • Intermediate level in English.


Good to have

  • Knowledge of emerging data architecture paradigms such as data meshes.
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) or cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics, Azure Data Engineer).
  • Exposure to complex data environments, such as finance or operational reporting.
