Junior Analytics Engineer 

Location: London Office / Hybrid (3 days a week working from home)

Reporting to: Product Owner - Data


The role:


We are seeking a talented and motivated Junior Analytics Engineer to join our dynamic data team. As a Junior Analytics Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building, maintaining, and optimizing our data pipelines and analytics infrastructure. You will work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and engineers to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility. 


Key responsibilities: 

Data Modeling:  

  • Develop and maintain data models using dbt to transform data in our data warehouse (BigQuery). 
  • Write efficient SQL queries to create useful modelled data. 
  • Collaborate with data analysts and engineers to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions. 
  • Design and implement data models to support business analysis and reporting. 
  • Create data marts and data models to optimize query performance. 

Data Quality Assurance:  

  • Monitor data quality and identify data anomalies. 
  • Implement data validation and testing procedures to ensure data accuracy. 

Looker Development:  

  • Support teams with knowledge sharing on Looker models and explores to enable self-service analytics. 
  • Support with access administration to our Looker BI platform 

Collaboration:  

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.    
  • Collaborate with data analysts to provide insights and support data-driven decision-making. 


We’re looking for someone who

  • A good understanding of SQL with some proven practice.
  • Passion for data and a desire to learn and grow.
  • Familiarity with Looker or other BI tools or familiar with the concept of BI tools.
  • An understanding of cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
