About Us
The Engineering Data Hub drives transformation and implementation of data, analytics & AI within Volvo Cars Engineering. The department handles competence growth and collaborations within data, analytics & AI. The department is cross-functional, consisting of data engineers, data scientists, machine learning engineers and software engineers developing product applications and services with both direct and indirect connection to our cars. By analyzing large amounts of vehicle data, we enhance our products with new and improved functions and services.
We are now looking for a senior data scientist who can complement our team in extracting data driven insights. We are looking for a person with strong skills in analyzing, modelling and visualizing patterns of large amounts of data, especially time series signals from complex sensor networks.
Tasks
As a senior data scientist, you will be responsible for turning data into insights using state of the art analytics and machine learning techniques, and to design and train models to improve the analysis of sensor signals from our vehicles and other sources of engineering data. You will work hands-on with spearheading projects aimed to drive innovation and improving our processes for working with vehicle data at Volvo Cars Engineering.
We believe that you are an innovative problem-solver who can take on a leading role in driving technical development both hands-on and by effective collaboration and knowledge sharing with others.
Required qualifications
• MSc or PhD in statistics, engineering, computer science, applied mathematics or other
relevant field, or proven experience achieved by other means.
• 3+ years industry experience as a data scientist, research engineer or equivalent.
• Strong programming skills and in-depth knowledge of machine learning frameworks (e.g. Python, PyTorch, Tensorflow and scikit-learn).
• Strong visualization, presentation and communication skills.
• Strong experience in data analytics and statistical modelling of large amounts of data.
Meritorious:
• Experience with machine learning, data mining and algorithms.
• Experience of advanced time series analysis, anomaly detection and root cause analysis.
• Experience turning conceptual ideas and methods to prototypes and deployments.
• Experience from the automotive industry.
• Experience in Distributed analytics, Edge Learning or Generative AI.
