Front End / Software Engineer

Tampa Florida - Full Time – Active Top Secret Clearance required 
The Front End Developer / Software Engineer  is responsible for turning raw data and ideas from the broader team into meaningful and contextually relevant displays or interfaces for end users. This is a key position for on-site work located in Tampa, FL directly reporting to the on-site Program Manager.  Our customer is a US Government research and development (R&D) lab providing demonstrable solutions to current challenges. The focus is innovation on analytic methodology and technological enablement of structured analytics. This involves blending analytical rigor with data science and human factors to produce relevant capabilities that demonstrate the art of the possible in solving the end user’s problem.  A key part of that process is the ability to display data and analytical results in interactive and relevant formats that give the user speed to insight. Frequently we are asked to create new and novel solutions that require the development of new user interfaces, data visualizations, and small prototype software that will engage the end user. You will work along side managers, operators, analysts, data scientists, data engineers, and creative design specialists to collaboratively produce applied solutions to the department's hardest challenges.  Qualifications and Role: As part of a fast-paced team, be an expert in front end development/software development techniques and methods. The ideal candidate will also understand Intelligence Community analytic methodology, and have the ability to create visual narratives that intuitively simplify complex concepts for a variety of audiences. Knowledge of data science fundamentals adds great value to the team. In addition, you will assess emerging and current front end tools/technology to evaluate operational usefulness and demonstrate the capability through application on operational data. Results must be documented and communicated both verbally and through multi-media methods to senior management. We are a highly visual focused organization, but strong written and verbal skills are also required.   Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years relevant experience 
• Develop data-centric solutions and integrates APIs for seamless data exchange
• Build and maintain software solutions using Python, Java, JavaScript
• Expertise in D3.js, Node.js, and similar development tools 
  

The candidate must be proficient in all or most of: 

• Cloud based Viz/data tools 
• Web based development frameworks like React, Redux, HTML, and CSS
• Spreadsheet / Data - Excel/PowerBI 
• Data Viz/Dashboarding tools like Tableau or Kibana 

The ideal candidate will also have experience in one or more of the below: 

• Verbal and written communication at the senior executive/university graduate level 
• Critical thinking and creative problem solving 
• Application of structured analytics to complex data 
• Intelligence Community tools and data sources or commercial equivalents 
• Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
