Data Architect

Role impact:

Responsible for designing, developing, and supporting data models for analytics solutions and guiding the data architecture aspect of other solutions throughout Cadillac Fairview’s business.

What you will deliver:

• Responsible for guiding the data architecture domain by addressing the organization’s highest-priority data-related     
• Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure that data is used in a responsible and ethical manner. This includes establishing data lineage, defining data access controls, and implementing data security measures.
• Ensure that the data used to train AI models is accurate, complete, and consistent. This involves implementing data cleansing and data validation processes to identify and correct errors in the data.
• Delivering high-quality related outcomes, including data services/processes, data flow and consumption, and system enhancements by existing standards and guidelines.
• Enhance the enterprise data warehouse or data lake for the purpose of analytics using modern data storage technologies and methodologies.
• Coordinating and collaborating on any ongoing or future projects with data architecture solutions, creating architecture blueprints, and overseeing implementation alignment with produced blueprints.
• Managing end-to-end data architecture by advising on enterprise-wide data architecture decisions and guiding projects according to these guardrails.
• Conducting a continuous audit of data management system performance, refine whenever required, and report immediately any breach or loopholes to the stakeholders.
• Work closely with D&T teams and external vendors to collect and translate information requirements into data to develop data-centric solutions.
• Develop and implement data architecture practices aligned for modeling, stored procedures, replication, regulations, and security, among other concepts, to meet technical and business goals.
• Advise Cadillac Fairview’s solution architects on the data architecture of their solutions and participate in the review and approval of the proposed solution architectures.
• Ensure the data architect work is documented with industry standards.
• Play a critical role in ensuring that the organization has the necessary data and AI governance in place to support AI initiatives.
• Continuously improve the quality, consistency, accessibility, and security of our data activity across company needs.

What you need to succeed:  

• A university degree in computer science or an approved equivalent combination of education and experience. 
• 7+ years of experience in data architecture, including data modelling, data governance, master data management, data quality, data stewardship, and data warehousing/business intelligence.
• 7+ years of data integration experience, data modelling and developing backend services using APIs and Store Procedures
• 5+ years of experience working with various technology tools: AWS S3 buckets, Snowflake, Informatica IICS, Informatica Data Quality
• Architectural certifications preferred, but not in replacement of relevant experience
• Extensive experience in establishing data warehouses/lakes, has solid experience with Cloud-based data storage solutions (AWS S3 specifically).
• Strong experience with data stack like Snowflake, Informatica IICS, and Informatica Axon and their data models.
• Good understanding of data-driven system integration (web services and ETL/batch jobs), establishing the organization’s canonical data models and ability to work with XML and JSON-based data formats.
• Worked with leading-edge BI platforms, such as Power BI and Tableau.
• Experience with description techniques for data architecture and the relationship of data with other architecture domains (e.g., data representations in business and application process models).
• Extensive experience in data warehousing/data lake, business intelligence and data analytics
• Experience with emerging technologies (Cloud, Data Lake, Predictive Analytics/Forecasting, Data Mining, etc.) is an asset.
• Exposure to solution architecture practice would be a plus.
• Exposure to enterprise architecture practice would be a plus.
