The Data Engineering and Internal Products (DEIP) team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer. You’ll be a technical leader responsible for designing, building and improving platforms and services that empower our customers and other teams at Clever.

Building Great Internal Products that Clever employees use Every Day
Teams across Clever need tools to help them with their day-to-day work. We own internal products that allow teams to manage otherwise difficult tasks. These internal products keep Clever running smoothly.
A DAY IN THE LIFE:
You will be responsible for designing and building services and products that support scaling company processes, improving decision making, and empowering customers with actionable analytics. You’ll work on projects like:
- Designing, building and scaling our analytics pipeline to deliver fast, reliable insights that drive business and product decisions
- Developing Clever’s internal products and systems to improve employee productivity and deliver greater impact to customers
- Managing Clever’s data warehouse and optimizing for scale as we grow our user base and product surface area
- Expanding and scaling our external analytics products to fulfill the analytics demands of external customers
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- 4+ years of experience as a software or data engineer
- Experience with backend development is required
- Experience building data pipelines, ingesting and transforming data with SQL is required
- Experience with GoLang is useful but not required
- Experience with modern data tools especially dbt, Snowflake, and Spark
- Experience with data modeling for analytics use cases is helpful but not required
- Experience with AWS services is a plus (e.g. AWS Lambda, Athena, S3, RDS, Dynamo, Kinesis, Glue)
- Experience with design and architecture of end-to-end systems to solve a variety of product and data needs
- Experience with REST APIs and microservices
- Led medium to large projects and collaborated with engineers and cross-team stakeholders to create meaningful impact
- The drive to learn and teach through collaboration and code reviews

SALARY TRANSPARENCY:
The range of our base salary cash compensation for this role for candidates living in the United States, besides NYC and San Francisco, CA, is between $160,000 - $190,000.. For candidates living in NYC and San Francisco, CA is between $176,000 - $209,000. All final offers are determined using multiple factors including experience and level of expertise.
