THE ROLE

As a Forward Deployed ML Engineering Intern at Baseten, you will partner with our customers to understand their problems and engineer ML solutions using state-of-the-art models and our open-source Truss system. This role provides a unique front-row view into the opportunities and challenges facing companies implementing ML and AI solutions at scale.

This internship is based out of our San Francisco HQ and is expected to be on-site 4+ days per week most weeks. We're currently hiring for Winter and Spring 2025.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Use Baseten’s open-source Truss framework to build and test the latest ML models.

• Research generative AI models and techniques and add them to our public model library for users to deploy.

• Partner with customers to support production ML use cases.

• Collaborate with other Baseten engineers to optimize ML model performance for specific use cases.

• Contribute to Truss or create open-source projects powered by Baseten.

REQUIREMENTS

• Demonstrated experience with Python in a production-level environment.

• Some familiarity with AI/ML pipelines and the ML model development and deployment lifecycle.

• Bonus: Previous work experience building or optimizing AI/ML projects.
