Data Analyst

Winpak is seeking a highly motivated Data Analyst to join our growing Corporate IT team based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
In this role you will be initially focusing on a major ERP data migration project, the successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring data accuracy and integrity throughout the migration process. In addition to this critical ERP project, the Data Analyst will work on various data-driven initiatives, supporting business intelligence, reporting, and data optimization efforts across the company. Key Responsibilities:
- ERP Data Migration:
- Work closely with the IT team and stakeholders to migrate data from legacy systems into the new ERP platform.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity throughout the migration process by conducting thorough data mapping, validation, and reconciliation and writing scripts and automation to streamline these processes.
- Identify and resolve data quality issues and discrepancies in coordination with business and IT teams.
- Document data migration processes and provide post-migration support and analysis.
- Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Write requirements and develop processes to cleanse, govern and maintain data to support reporting, dashboards and data projects across departments (finance, operations, sales, etc.).
- Analyze complex data sets and extract actionable insights that inform business strategies.
- Utilize ETL tools to cleanse, move and stratify data for use in data driven projects.
- Automate recurring reports and ensure timely delivery to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with various departments to understand data needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Data Governance & Quality:
- Maintain data governance standards, ensuring data is clean, accurate, and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
- Implement processes and controls to monitor ongoing data quality and improve data management practices.
- Assist in regular audits to ensure adherence to data policies.
- Collaboration:
- Act as a liaison between the business, IT, and other stakeholders to understand business objectives and ensure data-related needs are met.
- Collaborate with the business and IT teams to integrate new data sources and optimize data workflows.
- Ad Hoc Analysis & Projects:
- Support various data-driven projects across the company as needed, such as data optimization, process improvement initiatives, and advanced analytics projects.
- Assist in identifying new opportunities for leveraging data to drive efficiency and innovation.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a similar role.
- 3+ years of experience with data migration, particularly in ERP systems (e.g., Infor, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
- 3+ years of experience using data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Python) and reporting tools like Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, Dundas or similar.
- 3+ years of experience working with large, complex data sets
- 3+ years in a role that required communication and collaboration skills to work across different teams.
- 3+ years of experience with data governance, data quality, and data management processes is preferred.
